Maintenance Tips

Your solar system is low maintenance, but like every element of your home, there are some things we recommend doing to keep it working and looking its best. Cleaning frequency depends on the amount of dirt accumulation, but we recommend 1-2 times per year. If you are around a building development with a lot of dust, we recommend cleaning the panels more frequently.

On a day-to-day basis, rainwater will clean the surface of the panel as the tilt allows the rainwater to run off, providing a self-cleaning mechanism.

Tools that are safe for all panels

  • Garden hose with a gentle spray (no jet/pressure washer).

  • Soft brush or microfiber mop head on a telescopic, non-conductive pole.

  • Bucket with clean, cool water.

  • A rubber squeegee for finishing

Safety first

  • Work early morning or late afternoon (cool glass, no glare).

  • Stay on the ground with a telescopic, non-conductive pole whenever possible. If you must go on the roof, use fall protection and non-slip shoes.

  • Keep water and tools away from cables, junction boxes, and connectors. If you’ll be near electrical gear, follow your system’s shutdown sequence (AC off → DC isolators)

  • Never walk on panels. Wet glass is extremely slippery.

What not to do (common warranty killers)

  • High-pressure jets near glass edges, backsheets, or labels.

  • Hot-panel cleaning (heat shock risk).

  • Standing/leaning ladders on the array.

  • Strong chemicals or abrasive pads that can micro-scratch the glass.
